Since 1987, the Calgary International Children’s Festival (third largest Festival of its kind in North America), has brought professional performing artists, including theatre companies, musicians, dancers and more, from around the world. The 2009 Festival which runs from May 19 to 23, features internationally acclaimed shows that include MacHomer from Québec, Butterflies from Italy, Run Chicken Run from Denmark, Trio for a Green Pea / Trio pour un P'tit Pois from France, O Cano from Brazil, Circus INcognitus from Québec, and Cranked from British Columbia’s Green Thumb Theatre.
